Message from the President, Colin Plows

Of the 394 Friends of the Public Library groups across Canada, the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) generated the most revenue. This is only possible thanks to the remarkable dedication and contributions of FOPLA members and close to 300 volunteers. FOPLA believes that the Ottawa Public Library is a critical civic institution and that great cities have great, vibrant libraries. Ottawa is blessed with a jewel of a library system; it must be supported, protected, and enabled to get even better. On behalf of our association, we thank the OPL Board and staff for the time, energy, and heart that you contribute to making our Library a place for everyone in Ottawa.
