Listening to a book can be just as enjoyable as reading one! OPL’s Audiobook Walking Club combines the pleasure of storytelling with the benefits of walking. It is an opportunity to rediscover reading in a new way, and connect with fellow audiobook enthusiasts, while staying active and enjoying the outdoors this summer.
“I rarely get a chance to sit and read”, shares Nazia, Public Service Assistant, “so audiobooks have become my favourite way to enjoy books anytime, anywhere – whether I’m commuting, walking or tackling everyday tasks”.
Join the Club!
Join us on July 11, at 10:30 am in Beryl Gaffney Park. First, download an audiobook of your choice from our collection, then enjoy a 60‑minute walk with the group along the Rideau and Jock Rivers. Feel free to wear a comfortable outfit and bring your water bottle and headphones!
Following the walk, stay for a 30-minute social gathering, and enjoy connecting with your community and sharing your love of audiobooks.
