National Indigenous History Month is a vibrant celebration of Indigenous cultures, voices, and storytelling. Join us for an event with Anishinaabe author Waubgeshig Rice for a talk on his bestseller Moon of the Turning Leaves.
“Waubgeshig Rice’s Moon of the Turning Leaves was an incredible follow-up to Moon of the Crusted Snow,” shares Gemini, an OPL librarian. “I was especially struck by the strength and resilience that emerge from the environmental and societal struggles faced by this Anishinaabe community as they fight to survive in an isolating, post-apocalyptic Northern Ontario.”
During the event, Rice will share insights into the Anishinaabe culture that inspires his writing, and the themes that shape his work and draw readers into powerful and immersive worlds that resonate long after the final page.
