We know our community has been eager for updates following the Canada Day storm, which caused water infiltration and temporary closures at the Carlingwood and Nepean Centrepointe branches.
Nepean Centrepoint branch update
Nepean Centrepointe branch will reopen on Thursday, July 30.
The first and second floors will be open with access to collections, holds pickup, public computers, programs and Imagine Space services.
The lower level will remain closed until November while restoration work is completed.
Children's programs will resume, and a small children's collection will be available on the first floor.
The exterior book drop will reopen for returns on Monday, July 27.
Bookings for public computers, Imagine Space equipment, and other reservable services will resume on Monday, July 27, for use when the branch reopens.
Holds already on the shelf will be available for pickup for one week following the July 30 reopening.
Carlingwood branch update
Carlingwood branch will remain closed.
Our teams continue to work on restoration of the lower level, and we will share information about a confirmed reopening date in August.
Please note:
If you have a hold ready for pick up, an OPL employee will contact you to discuss options.
The exterior book drop remains closed. Please do not return library materials to the Carlingwood branch until further notice.
You can continue to use nearby branches, including Emerald Plaza branch (1547 Merivale) and Rosemount branch (18 Rosemount), as well as Nepean Centrepointe (101 Centrepointe) when it reopens on July 30.
You can also access OPL's extensive digital collections and online resources.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full library services safely and as quickly as possible.
